David Rossier, who took over the Allegri Gallery in December 2007, very much looks forward to meeting you in this magnificent setting.

I trained as a cabinet-maker at the "école des metiers" (trade school). After 23 years of experience in the making and restoration of rustic furniture, I left Rougemont, the next door village, where I ran a small antique gallery which had been in the family for 3 generations and where I gained a deeper knowledge of rustic furniture. My wife, Yvette, does papercuts in the tradition of Louis Saugy, and these are also to be found in the gallery.

WHO ARE WE?

Allegri Antique Gallery

Since 1985 Allegri Antique gallery has been located in the village of Flendruz, a few kilometres from Gstaad in Switzerland. With a surface area of 500m2 it offers a collection of rare rustic furniture and folk art carefully selected for their authenticity and their aesthetics.

Here you can find superb painted furniture from the cantons of Bern and Appenzell; tables of all shapes and sizes; period furniture; pieces from the FUNK workshops in Bern; perhaps a wedding cupboard from Fribourg or a papercut by Hauswirth or Saugy, the great masters of this art.

The restoration workshop permanently employs one or two professional cabinet-makers. The purchasers' satisfaction is the prime aim of the gallery. Every major object is sold with a photo and a written certificate guaranteeing authenticity and mentioning any restoration work undertaken which never exceeds the norms admitted by the antique dealers' association. Restorations are guaranteed for a minimum of 2 years.
